Lenzing
Austrian cellulosic fiber producer, Lenzing, has joined the chemical industry’s sustainable supply chain initiative, Together for Sustainability (TfS). Numerous internationally active chemical companies have joined the initiative with Lenzing. Their common objective is to make the chemical industry’s global supply networks more sustainable.
Robert van de Kerkhof, Chief Commercial Officer Fiber at Lenzing, said that joining the TfS initiative is another clear commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of the global textile and nonwoven sectors and demonstrates that Lenzing takes sustainability extremely seriously – so much so that sustainability is at the core of their business strategy. In order to migrate from linear to circular methods of working, the industry needs innovation, and Lenzing will continue to engage across the supply chain to bring this vision to reality.
Complex global sustainability concerns necessitate a multi-stakeholder collaborative approach to generating systemic solutions. Lenzing has been creating collaborations within its “Naturally Positive” sustainability strategy for many years in order to make the global textile and nonwoven sectors more sustainable and bring about systemic change.
TfS President Bertrand Conquéret, said that he is delighted to welcome Lenzing to the TfS family, increasing the total number of TfS members to 37. They continue to broaden their reach and influence on the sustainability performance of chemical supply chains in collaboration with their key partners. Given the regulatory environment, climatic issues, and market situations, the demand for sustainable enterprises grows. TfS is a critical facilitator in making supply chains and enterprises more sustainable and contributing to the development of a better world.
