Leather Quimica achieves ZDHC conformance Level 1

Chem-MAP has announced that Leather Quimica SLU, a Spanish manufacturer of chemical specialties for the leather industry, has achieved ZDHC Level 1 Conformance in accordance with MRSL V2.0 after the Chem-MAP ZDHC Certification procedure. By assisting in the avoidance of the use of hazardous compounds, ZDHC MRSL contributes to effective chemical management.

Since its inception, Leather Quimica has strived to provide new techniques to provide its clients a competitive advantage. In a joint press statement, the two companies stated that being able to focus on obtaining ZDHC Level 1 has added to their goal of delivering the finest technology for the leather sector in 2021.

Georgina Mawer, head of Chem-MAP, said that companies who participate in the Chem-MAP initiative send a strong statement about their commitment to sustainable chemistry. The achievement of ZDHC MRSL Level 1 by Leather Quimica SLU is a significant step forward for chemical transparency and sustainability in the leather supply chain.

Jordi Carreras, technical manager of Leather Quimica SLU, said that after successful cooperation with the Eurofins |Chem-MAP Certification procedure, they’re happy to announce that Leather Quimica SLU has achieved ZDHC Level 1 compliance. This procedure is part of Leather Quimica SLU’s commitment to using responsible chemical inputs to produce more sustainable leather. Reaching ZDHC Level 1 compliance supports their continuous commitment to achieving their long-term goals.
