Labon textile fiber company to launch its first facility in Orangeburg

Labon, a leading technical fiber and textile manufacturer plans to establish its first U.S. facility investing to the tune of $3.1 million using a 15,700 square foot facility at a site at 122 Industrial Boulevard in Orangeburg, South Carolina

Labon is excited to launch their first operations in the United State in Orangeburg County. Between the skilled workforce and friendly business climate, this decision was easy for them, said Labon GM Hongxin Chen.

The company’s new facility is projected to be up and running by January 2017 and they are currently hiring for open positions. The Orangeburg County project is expected to bring $3.1 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 23 new jobs.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.

Labon established in Shanghai in 2005, specializes in the research, development and manufacturing of technical fibers and textiles for use across a variety of applications, including sealing, friction, hand protection and flame-retardant products.
