Kelheim Fibres partners with traceability solutions provider TextileGenesis

Viscose speciality fibres manufacturer, Kelheim Fibres, has partnered with TextileGenesis™, an award-winning traceability platform that fosters radical transparency from the point of production to the point of sale and guarantees the provenance and authenticity of sustainable textiles in comparison to imitations.

Dr. Marina Crnoja-Cosic, Director New Business Development at Kelheim Fibres, said that their wood-based fibers serve as an environmentally favorable foundation for sustainable textiles; however, consumers frequently are unaware of the materials used to make their clothing. However, they must understand that they have control over reducing the textile industry’s environmental impact. Transparency and traceability are the cornerstones that enable consumers to make educated decisions.

TextileGenesis™ uses blockchain technology to track and verify the use of sustainable fibers from fiber to garment. Transparency and dependability are guaranteed throughout the whole production process and beyond with a digital fibercoin.

Amit Gautam, Founder & CEO at TexileGenesis™, said that the fashion and textile value chain is undergoing substantial transition, driven by sustainable resources, altering consumer demand for sustainable products, and increasingly strict rules on transparency. It’s great to see Kelheim advancing the sector by taking a proactive role in the traceability path.
