Joules launches takeback & resale program with Reskinned

British fashion and lifestyle brand, Joules, has partnered with Reskinned, a new apparel platform, to establish a takeback and resale program aimed at reducing waste and extending product life.

Joules consumers will be able to return any pre-loved Joules apparel, footwear, or accessories, in any condition, to be rehomed or sustainably recycled through the ‘Joules ReWear’ program. In exchange, customers will receive a discount voucher good for up to £25 off their next purchase at Joules, whether online or in-store.

The takeback plan on the Joules website will be powered by Reskinned, which will let customers to choose which things they want to trade in using an online tool. They will be instructed to package the items and deliver them to the courier drop-off location. After the takeback items have been received and validated, a credit voucher for the qualifying items will be emailed.

In a statement, Joules emphasized that returned items will be re-sold ‘as new,’ or alternatively repurposed or exported. With the debut of the Joules ReWear re-sale platform later this year, consumers will be able to purchase pre-loved goods that have been donated.

Ruby Fowler, corporate social responsibility manager at Joules, said that they recognize the significant importance of doing everything they can to decrease waste and increase the circularity of their sector. Reskinned’s efforts connect well with their own plan and their larger Responsibly Joules framework. This is at the heart of all they do, and it will remain so as they strive to provide value to all of their various stakeholders in the future.
