IVL plants achieve ISCC Plus certification

The Hygiene Division of Bangkok-based Indorama Ventures (IVL) has achieved International Sustainability Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus certification at two of its manufacturing sites.

FiberVisions, a polypropylene fiber company in Varde, Denmark, and Avgol, a maker of spunlaid nonwovens in Uzlovaya, Russia, both passed audits pertaining to traceability and the reasonable use of biomaterials.

Shachar Rachim, CEO of IVL’s Hygiene Division, said that this certification demonstrates its dedication to assisting its clients in meeting its carbon reduction goals by utilizing carbon-neutral fibers. The accreditation ensures that their nonwoven fabrics and fibers meet the ISCC’s stringent recycled-renewable material standards. Without having to requalify the components, their accredited facilities can track the product’s composition along the supply chain.

The ISCC Plus accreditation for these two sites is expected to be followed by similar certifications at other production units, according to IVL. To improve recyclability, reduce raw material consumption, and minimize the impact of fugitive wastes, a broad portfolio of technologies is being developed to address how component materials interact with the environment.
