International Fibres Group launches PA11 bio-based fiber

International Fibres Group (IFG) has launched its new PA11 fiber. Rilsan PA11, which is part of the new IFG Bio range, is 100% bio-based and made from renewable castor oil, which has a track record of meeting some of the world’s most demanding material challenges. Lightweight, flexibility, durability, and general toughness are all trademark properties of PA11.

The castor bean is a long-term, renewable crop that does not compete with food and does not deforest the environment. PA11 fiber provides the perfect sustainable solution for a variety of end applications, including luggage, carpets, extreme sports, socks, and undergarments, according to IFG.

Richard Barker-Poole, IFG’s Sales and Marketing Director, said that they’re happy to be able to debut PA11 into the fiber market. They invite their customers to collaborate with them in furthering its uses so that they can be a part of the path toward a more sustainable future.

IFG’s company principles are firmly rooted in customer service, sustainability, and continual improvement of product performance characteristics, with a significant emphasis on research and development, particularly in the performance of more sustainable alternatives to traditional fibers. The corporation has made a significant investment in a dedicated R&D center in Linz, Austria. Its experienced technical professionals collaborate with a global client base to provide creative, innovative, and flexible supply solutions, which the new PA11 fiber offering will perfectly complement.
