Hyosung reveals sustainable denim solutions

Hyosung has revealed its sustainable textile and sourcing solutions for denim in 2024 at Kingpins NYC, aligning with the denim industry’s emphasis on agile global supply chains and diverse sustainable offerings.

The denim sector is strategically focusing on global sourcing, emphasizing the efficient utilization of resources from various locations to acquire optimal raw materials. Sustainability and ethical production practices are key considerations, and the industry recognizes the need to swiftly adapt to ever-changing consumer trends.

Simon Hong, Hyosung Global Marketing Lead – Denim, highlights the pivotal role of sourcing in achieving the denim industry’s strategic goals in 2024. Global sourcing methods, flexible supply chain strategies, and environmental consciousness are anticipated to shape the industry’s trajectory and successes.

At Kingpins NYC, Hyosung is set to showcase a distinctive portfolio of certified environmentally friendly resources, enhancing denim’s effectiveness and reinforcing its commitment to continual innovation, providing long-term solutions across the denim value chain.

Hyosung is expanding its regen® Bio-Based stretchable offerings, introducing yarn options made with 70% and 98% renewable resources, delivering a more impactful and verifiable sustainability message.

Building on the success of RCS-certified regen® Spandex introduced in 2020, made entirely from regenerated manufacturing waste, Hyosung continues to address circularity priorities. Denim companies and mills are increasingly adopting the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign criteria for recyclable denim.

Hyosung’s CREORA® 3D Max spandex line has grown to include more sustainable and functional fiber options, maintaining performance and recycling benefits. The additions include USDA and SGS-certified regen® Bio-Based 3D Max spandex, RCS-certified 100% recycled regen® 3D Max spandex from recovered production waste, and CREORA® Easy 3D Max spandex, delivering soft power with exceptional stretch and recovery.
