Gartex Texprocess India to showcase sustainable manufacturing

Gartex Texprocess India will showcase technological advancements and ecological initiatives ranging from indigo flash dyeing to the most advanced screen-printing processes on 12–14 May 2022 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.

Gartex Texprocess India, co-organized by Messe Frankfurt India and MEX Exhibitions, seeks to drive technical developments in the Indian textile and apparel industries by displaying new products from over 120 exhibitors.

When the doors open later this week (12-14 May), the organizers expect to see apparel companies, design studios, fashion designers and merchandisers, trade body representatives, distributors, garment and textile machinery importers, exporters, and wholesalers under one roof.

Levi Strauss‘ sustainability initiatives will be highlighted at the ‘Denim Talks’ event on May 13. This one-day conference will highlight technical innovations and “green” initiatives in the denim manufacturing sector by bringing together denim industry stakeholders and thought leaders on a single platform to present digital manufacturing and bio dyeing techniques for the first time in India, as well as the first-ever flash dyeing of indigo.

Manufacturing technology demonstrations will be on offer from a number of brands, such as Balaji Sewing Machine Pvt Ltd, Cotton Council International, EH Turel & Company, Baba Textile Machinery (India) Pvt Ltd, Felix Schoeller, Gayatritex Engineers Pvt Ltd, Golden Laser India Pvt Ltd, Mehala Machines India Limited, Orange O Tec Pvt Ltd, Ramsons Garment Finishing Equipment Pvt Ltd, Sera Machines, Sky Enterprises, Sewco Garment Solutions Pvt Ltd, and Zoje.

Shri Vijoy Kumar Singh, additional secretary, Ministry of Textiles – Government of India, said that he is glad to know that Messe Frankfurt India and MEX Exhibition are organizing the first edition of Gartex Texprocess India 2022 in the financial capital of India after successfully hosting the Show in Delhi last year. According to their observations, the textile sector is heavily reliant on foreign machinery. The majority of equipment made in India are required, especially given the current disruption of global transportation systems. The Ministry of Textiles is currently developing a strategy to encourage the manufacture of textile machinery in India. The strategy is to encourage indigenous innovation while also inviting prominent manufacturers to establish businesses.

Other key industry organizations supporting the three-day show are the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Retailers Association of India (RAI), Denim Manufacturers’ Association (DMA), and Gujarat Garment Manufacturers’ Association (GGMA).

A variety of exhibitions will run concurrently to give an all-encompassing platform for stakeholders in the textile, garment, and screen-printing industries to explore innovative production capabilities in their respective verticals.
