France’s Holding Textile Hermès & Bucol brand receives GOTS Certification

Holding Textile Hermès, a subsidiary of the luxury goods business Hermès, and its Bucol textile brand has received GOTS certification, demonstrating their commitment to a more sustainable fashion world. OEKO-TEX certification is already in place for Bucol silk and cotton goods.

Bucol sources its silk and cotton fibers from organic sources. The chemical substances used in Bucol’s products are carefully chosen to be less dangerous to humans and the environment, and strict traceability is maintained throughout the manufacturing process, according to the company’s press release.

Florent Wongeczowski, director of operations for Bucol, said that their objective is to live with current values, to contribute to an endeavor to produce textiles that are respectful of their environment and hence more virtuous for future generations.

Since its inception, Bucol has been dedicated to providing its clients with high-end textiles of extraordinary quality. Its personnel is at the heart of its creative process, which is rooted in modernism and the fashion and accessory universes. Bucol draws on the region’s unique knowledge, like the warp print process or knife cut velvet, and collaborates with the greatest artisans, both in-house and from outside sources. As a result, Bucol is naturally influenced by ethical and environmental concerns.

Bucol’s holding company, Holding Textile Hermès, has obtained GOTS certification from Ecocert under license number 228603.
