ELeather introduces a new material range to encourage recycling

The ELeather Group, based in the United Kingdom, has introduced a new material range to emphasize the importance of repurposing and recycling wherever possible.

Eco Brights, which debuted earlier this month, features corrugated fabrics and soft washed-out colors.

ELeather’s designer, Nicky Fox, said the key inspiration for this collection was a growing consciousness of over-consumption and the need for sustainability thought. The colors and textures allude to the delicate environment that surrounds us and emphasize the importance of protecting it. Design must be long-lasting and allow for further repurposing and recycling of materials.

Eco Brights is a set of seven complementary colors that can be used together or separately. Three various grains are included in the array, including a smooth metallic. This range, which includes neutral Dune, pink Sorbet, and dark Cactus, will work well in a variety of markets and uses, ranging from public spaces to fashion and tech pieces.

Eco Brights fabrics, like all ELeather goods, have a far smaller environmental impact than standard leather. Each roll of material contains up to 55% recycled leather that has been diverted from landfills. Furthermore, the manufacture of ELeather products reduces CO2 emissions by up to 60% while using up to 55% less water (compared to the production of traditional leather).

Designers can access Eco Brights and all other ELeather collections via the company’s online development portal, Design for Good, where they can search the fashion collections, browse the company’s texture archive, and download modeling files to visualize the materials in their own designs.
