Diesel and Coca Cola launches sustainable fashion collection

Companies from various industries are taking responsibility for the waste they contribute to the environment.

Case in point: Diesel teamed up with Coca-Cola to launch a new collection made with recycled cotton and recycled plastic bottles.

The co-branded Diesel x Coca-Cola: The (Re)Collection offers men’s, women’s and unisex denim, sportswear and accessories made from the recycled fibers. The collection consists of 12 pieces, including a unisex denim jacket and jeans with workwear influences, and women’s high-waisted jean shorts with Coca-Cola red accent stitching.

Other items include co-branded T-shirts and hoodies, track pants with logo side taping and knit beanies.

The Diesel x Coca-Cola: The (Re)Collection was unveiled at Galeries Lafayette during Paris Fashion Week. It is exclusively available online for pre-sale through Oct. 7 by visiting dieselbin.store on a mobile phone and then scanning any recycling logo worldwide, giving access to a hidden site on diesel.com to shop the collection.

The collection will be available at select Diesel stores worldwide and on the website, with additional events taking place in London, Berlin, Milan, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Amsterdam and New York.

“As a leading pioneer in denim and casual fashion, Diesel has always been known in the industry as an innovator,” Diesel founder Renzo Rosso said. “The (Re)Collection is a collaboration between two authentic and iconic brands that are both committed to a more responsible business. Inspired by our vision of the future, we are collaborating with Coca-Cola to explore new methods of creating fabrics, whilst challenging ourselves to incorporate recycled materials in our collections.”

This isn’t Coca-Cola’s first step into fashion—nor is it its first taste of denim. In July, the company partnered with Kith and Converse Chuck Taylor to release a capsule collection of branded denim shoes, T-shirts and sweatshirts.
