Cyclo Fibers and Aware Integrity bring traceability to sustainability

The textile manufacturers of Cyclo recycled fibers and Simco Spinning have entered into a strategic collaboration to become nominated spinners of the Aware Integrity Solution in Bangladesh.

The new recycled embedded yarn with the Aware Integrity Solution is fully traceable from fiber to the final product. Having the Aware tracer particles embedded in the certified recycled Cyclo Fiber, the end product(garment) can be scanned by a hand device to verify that a genuine Cycloemyarn has been used for the final product.

Mustafain Munir, the founder of Cyclo Recycled Fiber stated that sustainability was a spectrum and it was important for retailers and consumers to identify where in the spectrum their product lay to aid them make better decisions. He believes that the Aware technology enables them to push the industry in the right direction of the sustainable spectrum.

Feico van der Veen, the founder of Aware stated that its integrity solution combines the tracer and blockchain technology to aid the industry move ahead.

He said that they were more than just a database-driven QR code on products and were ready to scale up. He added that they are continually looking for innovative spinners of sustainable yarn with a transparent vision of the future. He concluded by stating that they were extremely proud to have the opportunity to work with industry innovators like Simco.

Similar technologies have been in play in the industry. Applied DNA technology can trace regular cotton from the raw materials stage through DNA embedded in the fibers. The U trust verification program makes sure every Reserve-bases recycled polyester and nylon fabric contains FiberPrint which is a proprietary technology used to analyze and validate fiber content claims and composition.

Bangladesh’s Cyclo Recycled Fibers and Simco  Spinning and Textile Ltd. have helped pioneer production of fiber utilizing recycling technology by cutting waste. Mechanisms that were utilized to produce yarn and other cleaning materials and other home textiles have evolved into Cyclo Recycled Fibres.
