Untangled Collection
Eyewear brand Costa is expanding its use of recycled fishing-net materials by extending its Untangled collection with the first clothing and accessories made using NetPlus, a recycled nylon material developed by Bureo from discarded fishing nets. The new range includes a water-repellent and quick-drying jacket, convertible cargo trousers and a six-panel hat, along with five new eyewear designs.
The new apparel range features three products, the Untangled Oceans Jacket, Untangled Oceans Convert Cargo and Untangled Oceans Hat. The jacket and cargo garment also include reflective strips to improve visibility in low-light conditions. The hat uses NetPlus in its visor board, while its mesh sweatband and taping are made using recycled materials.
Trevor McGowen, senior director of brand marketing at Costa, said that the Untangled collection aims to develop better products for water-based activities while helping protect the natural environments that inspire the brand. He added that introducing apparel to the collection for the first time extends this commitment beyond eyewear.
