CDP releases the environmental A List of fashion brands for 2022

LVMH is one of a group of companies that made the top spot on the CDP environmental A List for 2022. A company’s environmental performance may be shown in a single snapshot according to the non-annual profit rating system.

Businesses on the A List for combating climate change climbed by 34% this year to 283 and by 4% to 25. The number of people on the water security list, however, dropped by 12.7% to 103.

Fashion businesses on the A List include: LVMH for climate, forest and water, Burberry Group for climate, Inditex for climate, Kering for climate, VF Corp for climate, Superdry for climate and Gap Inc. for water.

Dexter Galvin, Global Director of Corporations & Supply Chains at CDP, said that in a year of ever-increasing environmental concerns around the world, the need for transformational, urgent, and collaborative change is more vital than ever. The first crucial step toward a net-zero and environmentally positive future is environmental disclosure, hence A List companies should be applauded for their level of transparency in their CDP submissions

Galvin said that however, they could not disregard the fact that these businesses are a minority. Too many people are either complacent or do not respond at all, and the majority still do not manage all environmental challenges comprehensively. As CDP raises the bar for what constitutes environmental leadership, businesses must rise to the occasion.
