The BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and the Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance research, education, and product safety in the Bangladeshi fashion industry. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for the sector.
Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Regional Chief of South-East Asia for the Hohenstein Group, and Md. Shafiul Islam, Chairman of BUFT’s Board of Trustees, signed the agreement. They emphasized the importance of such partnerships in achieving academic excellence and driving the industry towards sustainable and advanced practices. This collaboration aims to empower students, professionals, and the broader industry through joint efforts in academics, training, fashion branding, and sustainability research.
The MoU allows leaders with a shared vision and commitment to progress to share their expertise. The partnership will foster innovative research, inspire creativity, and push the industry towards a sustainable future.
Specialized training programs will be developed, equipping professionals and students with the necessary skills to excel in the fast-evolving fields of sustainability, fashion, and textiles.
