The 3rd edition of China Homelife Dubai 2014, the biggest Chinese products ’ sourcing platform in the Mena region, opened in the Emirate on November 25. This year’s China Homelife Dubai Exhibition has surpassed 40 percent growth in exhibitors’ numbers reaching more than 1,000 Chinese companies are showcasing their latest innovations.

Sami Al Qamzi, director General of Dubai Department of Economic Development, who inaugurated the event , was joined by Tang Weibin, consulate general of the People’s Republic of China, as well as China Government representatives as they toured the exhibition to meet scores of manufacturers in Dubai to sign new contracts and deals.

This year’s show has introduced a highly customised buyers programme, through which local and regional buyers were invited to one-to-one meetings with exhibitors, in the aim to support buyers in their search for qualified Chinese suppliers and business negotiations, all while facilitating the purpose of high quality Chinese companies in exploring the Mena region as a new export arena as they look to expand international business operations and source distribution partners.

More than 10,000 visitors are expected at the show. Chinese companies are exhibiting the latest household and home-related products, from furniture and interior décor, to textiles and garments, home and personal electronics, lighting, gifts items in addition to building materials, elevators and excavators.

Organised by MEORIENT, a leading facilitator of Chinese business in the Middle East, the fair will welcome visitors from not only the UAE but also Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

The China – Dubai trade constitutes 12 percent of the Emirate’s overall foreign trade, keeping pace with the salient boom in China’s trade, surpassing other economic forces in the volume of foreign trade and placing China on top of Dubai’s trading partners in 2014.

With a steady annual trade growth, the UAE – China relations have been increasingly developing in scale and significance.
