Arket launches Nordic outdoors collection using natural and recyclable materials

Sustainable fashion retailer Arket, has launched The Nordic Outdoors collection for men and women, in celebration of nature and the wilderness.

Items from the collection are featured among the setting they were made for in a Swedish landscape, the company’s homeland. Natural and recyclable materials, as well as polyester blends, are used to create pieces that provide breathability and protection to the wearer. The collection’s focus is on outerwear, with natural wool knits and a fleece jacket at the core of the offering.

According to a press statement from the business, the collection intends to give outfits for everyday wear, ushering customers into the autumn season with “insulating yet lightweight” items. Some pieces, such as the quilted jacket, are made to be easily packed in both urban and natural settings.

The Nordic Outdoors also has a variety of accessories, such as hats, shoes, and backpacks made from responsibly sourced wool and leather.

Arket, which is part of the H&M group, has made it a goal to be a 100% sustainable brand from its inception in 2017. The business releases recycled and natural collections on a regular basis while maintaining transparency in its supply chain. It has previously collaborated with natural material suppliers Re:Down, Aquafil, a producer of Econyl yarn, and Bottinelli, a family-owned weaving mill.
