Archana Kochhar promotes Make in India with her couture collection at NYFW

Indian fashion designer Archana Kochhar, delighted New York runway promoting the Make in India campaign with her couture collection, made of Ahimsa silk.

The designer presented a collection titled ‘Ahimsa Resama’ on September 13 and it was created with Ahmisa Silk to promote the Make in India campaign at the FTL MODA New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016.

The colour of the collection varied from nude palettes of beige and ivory offset with rose gold embellishments. The embroideries were a melange of rich Indian traditional gold zari thread, intellectual texturing techniques and Swarovski sprinkle.

Ahmisa Resama is an amalgamation of global silhouettes with ethnic embroideries, the designer said in a statement, and added that by saving each silkworm in the process of creating Ahmisa Silk, they are set free as silk moths.

This transformation has inspired her to incorporate hundreds of tiny silk moth wings and cocoon-shaped textures which are then bound together in the form of intricate textural embroidery which is the focal element of the collection.

Ahimsa Resama is a very special collection which is exclusively designed using the Ahimsa Silk also known as Peace Silk.
