Amazon x LABS
The Life and Building Safety (LABS) Initiative will collaborate directly with Amazon’s clothing factories in Cambodia, Indonesia, India, and Vietnam to conduct systematic assessments and implement safety training protocols for workers.
Leigh Anne DeWine, Amazon’s director of social responsibility, emphasized, “Ensuring safe, fair, and sustainable supply chains has always been important for Amazon across all our operations. Recognizing our responsibility to support safe working environments, we are pleased to join the LABS Initiative. We remain dedicated to continually improving working conditions.”
Pramit Chanda, the global director of textile and manufacturing at IDH and spokesperson for the LABS Initiative, stated, “As advocates for secure working environments and sustainability throughout the supply chain, we are excited to welcome Amazon into the LABS Initiative. Together, we look forward to collaborating to ensure the wellbeing of workers and to support responsible sourcing practices.”
