Nylstar, Spanish filament and yarn supplier last week at the Premiere Vision showcased its ‘Ecodye’ polyamide fibre collection for autumn 2016 – winter 2017. The dope-dyed yarns use a ‘one-step’ collaboration process, where colouring is added to the polymer during its production – contrasting traditional techniques of dyeing fibres separately.

Pakistan and Nepal need to focus on the promotion of bilateral business relations ensuring continued partnership for progress. The Ambassador of Nepal Bharat Raj Paudyal addressing the members of Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) said that economic ties between the two countries can be enhanced to the best possibility.

Improved regional trade will trigger pace of development in the whole SAARC region. Nepal greatly valued its relations with Pakistan that were based on mutual respect, trust and shared perceptions on regional and international issues.

Textiles ministry seeks funds in PSDP budget for 8 new projects

Pakistan Ministry of Textiles is seeking funding for eight new projects in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) budget for the 2015-16. Faisalabad Garment city is another project which would be discussed in CDWP, as it is a textile infrastructure project whereby state of the art infrastructure would be developed . The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs.598.500 million.

According to the documents the ministry claims that this project would help garments manufacturers in boosting value addition to textile related exports.

Dow organized seminar on water treatment solution for Tirupur textile units

Dow Water and Process Solutions (DW&PS), market leaders in reverse osmosis (RO), ultra filtration (UF) and ion exchange resins. The company as part of its awareness campaign on water treatment solutions recently reached out to textile units located in the knitwear hub of Tirupur by organising a seminar on ‘Water and Business Quality’.

Around 170 textile dyeing stakeholders are said to have attended the event.

DW&PS is ready to collaborate with the textile segment in Tirupur by positioning its Silvadur solution to address waste water treatment.

Pakistan witnessed 1pc increase in textile exports in 7 months of current FY

Pakistan textile exports have increased by one percent during the first seven months of current fiscal year against the exports of same period of last year. The textile products that witnessed increase in trade included yarn other than cotton yarn export of which increased by 24.86 percent, by going up from $20.987 million this year.

Exports of knitwear also increased by 10.19 percent from $1.306 billion last year to $1.44 billion this year, while exports of bed wear increased by 0.08 percent from $1.254 billion to $1.255 billion.

Pak-Turkey Free Trade Agreement(FTA) likely to increase export of textiles, agro and dairy products, and livestock, said Federal Minister of Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan on Monday.

The Commerce Ministry would be conducting a pre-FTA study and hold extensive discussions with stakeholders to strike the best possible deal.
The Ministry of Commerce would be concluding all future trade agreements based upon market research and the lessons learnt from previous accords.

Denim industry to gather in Dhaka next month

The denim industry will gather again in Dhaka for the third expo on denim and jeans that is schedule to start in Dhaka on March 1. The two-day show to take place at Radisson hotel will target local and international denim customers, said Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh, organiser of the event.

Bangladesh is a major sourcing hub for denim and jeans as the country sells more than $1.5 billion worth of denim apparel to different countries every year.

London Fashion Week is well underway with over 250 designers showcasing their work to a global audience of media and retailers. It is Britain’s biggest biannual consumer fashion showcase and once again London-based Taiwanese fashion designer Apu Jan made his fifth appearance at London Fashion Week with an autumn and winter collection that features his signature knitwear.

Deep In The Woods collection features 33 designs, all using fabrics jointly developed with Taiwanese textile companies and accessories made using 3-D printing.

Welspun Group seeks government plan to encourage textile exports

India is self-sufficient in textiles as the textile industry is one of the major contributors for India’s export basket contributing 12% of India’s total foreign exchange receipts and is not dependent on imports. This was projected by then Planning Commission that Textile exports will grow by 12% in coming years. In light of this, it becomes necessary to encourage textile exports, said B K Goenka, Chairman of Welspun.
