In 2018 the textile and raw materials and ready-wear sectors combined constituted nearly 16 percent of Turkey's total exports. Turkey's exports last year hit an all-time high of $168.1 billion, up from about $157 billion in 2017, as per Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan announcement. Dilo has introduced a new “HyperTex” technology which produces multi-layer felts made from base web, reinforcing layer and upper web. By using the scrim fabric machine of Ontec Automation GmbH it is possible to integrate a grid of unconsolidated yarn or filaments between two webs. The scrim can be fed inline and is then needled together in the subsequent needle loom. A great advantage of this method is the very high production speed for the complete process. Scrim formation and subsequent needling achieve speeds up to 40 m/min.

The Perpetual PET recycling operations have an approximate annual capacity of 100 million lbs/yr (~45,000 tons/yr) of high quality Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET) flake. This facility will complement Alpek Polyester’s current food-grade PET recycling capacity in Pacheco, Argentina and its fiber-grade recycling joint venture facility in Fayetteville, NC, USA.

The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed and the acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.
