In Shengze, offers for 32s polyester yarn were unchanged in the first week of November and 45s were stable on the week. In Qiangqing, offers for 32s weaving fell during the week, however, the fall was neutralised by strong Yuan.

Spun polyester yarn prices were stable in China as sales slowed down. Reportedly, some fabric makers still held payments. There was limited demand for materials, and only some sporadic small orders for rigid demand were seen. Overall, polyester market was falling. Offers in Shengze were stable amid flat enquiring and selling activities.

Asian PTA markers retreated US$8 a ton CFR China in the first week of November while CFR Southeast Asia marker was down US$5 a ton. The CFR India marker was down US$6 a ton.

Purified terephthalic acid prices in Asian fell US$5-8 a ton on the week as upstream paraxylene markets remained under weak fluctuation that week with Indian Reliance starting up its new unit. Thus, PTA markets retreated after rushing high early that week.

Offers for Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow rolled over in the first week of November while regular specs remain unchanged on the week. In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices were up US cent 1 a kg on the week.

Acrylic staple fibre prices were generally stable in Asian markets excepting India, where producers prices were revised down. In China, production run rate picked up somewhat, leading to more supplies, while end demand remained modest. Export market transaction was impacted somewhat by higher prompt exchange rate.

Asian MEG prices jumped further US$24 a ton CFR China and CFR South East Asia in the first week of November. In China, trading values surged during the week too.

Mono ethylene glycol spot prices surged again in Asian markets on bullish futures and short covering. During the second half of the week, several futures and financial traders were heard buying Yuan-denominated swaps on the futures market to cover short positions for H2 November and H1 December.

Asian paraxylene prices declined US$15.34 a ton CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea in the first week of November. Isomer mixed xylene offers fell US$25 a ton FOB Korea on the week.

Paraxylene prices declined a bit sharply in Asian markets tracking lower crude and falling January PTA futures in China. The November contract price settled almost flat over October.

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices were unchanged in the first week of November while FDY40D rolled over, but both were up US cents 1-2 a kg due to strong Yuan.

DTY 70D/24F prices remained unchanged while 30D/10F were flat on the week, however all were up US cents 1-2 a kg. Monofilament 30D prices were flat while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were up US cents 7 a kg during the week.

Asian caprolactum prices fell US$10 a ton CFR China and South East Asia in the first week of November. In China, spot offers were down during the week. East European goods were stable on the week.

Caprolactum values retreated slightly as supply increased, although demand was better and raw material range bound. Downstream converters and caprolactum makers ramp up run rate, thus balancing fundamentals. Run rates of polymerization units were up and inventory level down. Run rates at downstream yarn makers were also up, but with inventory were at 25‐30 days’ worth.

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices edged down US cent 1 a kg in the first week of November while 45s PC combed yarn prices were flat on the week. 32s PV (65/35) rolled over on the week.

Blended yarn prices fell on China's domestic market, with import prices more sharply dropping, and therefore opening opportunities to foreign goods. Fibre prices were too dropping, thus giving yarn makers some room to maintain margins.

In China, 30s spun viscose prices fell US cents 5 a kg in the first week of November while 40s compact sirospun yarn prices in Jiangsu were down US cent 1 a kg.

Viscose spun yarn markets were feeble that week and market discussions for ring‐spun and siro‐spun yarn mostly moved down. The weakness was percolated by falling VSF prices, but the downside eased somewhat, as monthly settlement was widely applied. Spinning mills still talked down prices when buying, but generally considered monthly settlement policy first.
