Polyester yarn prices rise in China, India

In China, offers for 32s polyester yarn in Shengze rose US cents 3 a kg in the third week of August. Spun polyester yarn offers were slightly up that week after declining the previous week. However, trading sentiment was tepid as transaction volume was small and demand was lackluster. Players were advised to pay heed to the changes on crude oil values, the price trend of PX and the number of orders from downstream spun yarn producers in the future.

In India, spun polyester yarn prices surged again during the week with an increase of 2% as compared to last week’s prices. Polyester yarn 30 knit yarn prices inched up INR3 a kg (up US cents 3) in Ludhiana market for the week.

Polyester spun yarn prices inched up in China and India while they largely remained unchanged in Pakistan. In Pakistan, spun polyester yarn prices were largely stable as polyester staple fibre prices did not move that week after recent hikes.
