Polyester yarn price rolls over in Asian markets

In Shengze, offers for 32s polyester yarn were steady in the third week of January. In Qiangqing, 32s weaving yarn was up US cent 1 a kg on the week.

Polyester yarn offers in China were stable amid thin transaction as producers had mostly shutdown units for the coming holiday and while downstream held low buying interest throughout the week. Prices of polyester yarn were stable in spite poor enquiry and transaction. Demand will remain thin before the Spring Festival holidays.

In India, polyester yarn prices inched up as markets remained disturbed by the demonetization process which could have a long-time impact on yarn trading. Polyester yarn 30 knit yarn prices inched up INR1 a kg (up US cents 2) in Ludhiana market.

In Pakistan, polyester yarn prices rolled over as PSF prices stopped rising, after surging in December.
