Polyester yarn price moves down in India

In China, offers for 32s polyester yarn in Shengze inched up US cents 2 a kg in the third week of April. Polyester yarn market saw sporadic deals concluded that week, and producers kept offers steady. In Qiangqing, polyester yarn markets were under downward correction amid lackluster transaction.

In India, polyester yarn 30 knit yarn prices were down INR2 a kg (down US cents 3) in Ludhiana market. Indian polyester yarn spinners were forced to cut their prices given the downward revision in PSF prices early April and to recoup demand on domestic and export markets.

In Pakistan, PSF prices remained unchanged thus supporting polyester yarn markets and following larger sales in the previous weeks, producers were unable to raise their prices. Demand from China was however at a reasonable level, allowing spinners to maintain their price offers.
