Nylon yarn price rolls over despite falling input cost

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were unchanged in the last week of October while FDY40D were stable.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices rolled over at US$2.68-2.88 a kg and DTY 30D/10F were at US$3.46-3.62 a kg.

Monofilament 30D was flat at US$2.75-2.91 a kg and 1.5D staple fiber were at US$2.44-2.52 a kg.

Despite weak caprolactum and nylon chips pricing, nylon filament yarn prices remained range bound, excepting for POYs.

Moreover, non-textile yarn prices varied, with cord fabric edging down and staple fiber inching up.

Demand for nylon yarn saw little improvement due to moderate performance in hosiery, underwear, weaving and warp-knitting sectors and thus poor buying power restrained intentions for hiking prices.

Demand for staple fiber was tolerable, while for fishing-net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric was modest.
