Nylon market stable to weak on dull demand

In China, nylon FDY70D/24F SD prices were unchanged in the first week of January, while FDY40D was stable during the week. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were firm while 30D/10F prices fell US cents 5 a kg on the week. Monofilament 30D prices were steady while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices rolled over on the week.

Nylon filament yarn prices softened that week in tandem with declining nylon chip prices amid lackluster demand. Producers operated at higher rates given passable profits while demand was stable. Demand was rigid as buyers were unwilling to pay higher prices.

Overall, nylon yarn market will be stable to down in coming weeks as the lunar year-end is approaching soon.
