Caprolactum price remains stable to weak in China

In China, offers for liquid spot were quoted flat in the first week of June while solid goods offers were hiked during the week.

Asian markers, the SE and FE markers fell US$10-20 a ton. Sinopec raised its June nomination to US$1,540 a ton for liquid goods while Fibrant nominated June up at US$1,550 a ton for liquid goods.

High end goods nomination for June had not been released.

Caprolactum prices were stable to weak over that week on back of moderate demand and range bound benzene cost.

Liquid goods offers were quoted flat at previous week’s values while solid goods were pegged higher. Mainstream values for East European goods were down on the week.

In China, producers ramped up run rate and this may result in increased supply in coming week. Downstream, run rates at polymerization units were around 75% and inventory down to 7 days’ worth.

Yarn makers were maintained steady run rate amid high inventory worth 30 days.
