ASF prices steady in Asian markets

ASF offers for Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow were stable in the first week of December, while regular specs rolled over during the week. In China, prices for medium-length fiber and cotton-type staple were steady on the week.

Acrylic staple fibre prices were stable in Asian market despite cost support easing steady, while demand was hard to expand. Although demand weakened with the market cooling down, it remained steady overall. Supply decreased with the weekly average run rate down to 78% in China.

Shanghai Petrochemical carried out maintenance as planned, and in turn supply in some regions tightened.

In India and Pakistan, ASF prices rolled over as downstream demand was still fair due to winter season. However, producers generally held cautious mentality.
