ASF prices climb in China amid increasing demand

In China, ASF prices for medium-length fibre and cotton-type staple were up US cents 4 a kg in the last week of August. ASF prices increased as demand picked up slowly during the week. Prices may go up further later, as products from ASF producers became popular, along with continuous price hikes in upstream ACN market. Producers were released from inventory pressure, with even some products being run out.

In India, acrylic staple fibre prices were unchanged after the revision was made in mid-August amid stable ACN cost and decent demand.

In Pakistan, prices were stable during the week.
