ASF price sobers in China, stable in India

In China, medium-length fiber and cotton-type staple ASF prices sobered US cent 0.50 a kg in the fourth week of May.

Acrylic staple fibre prices generally rolled over or lowered a bit that week. In China, ASF producers maintained stable numbers for settlement prices, but given poor sales amid faltering demand, inventory piled up. Thus, producers mostly reduced run rates for the moment.

Offers for cotton?type, medium?length staple fiber, tow and top were pegged a bit lower than last week. Due to still poor order intakes, demand from spinners remained muted amid high inventory.

In Pakistan, ASF prices remained unchanged after they were lifted last week while in India, prices were generally stable, with inventory increasing given slow demand.
