ASF price remains range-bound in Asian markets

Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow offers rolled over in the first week of April. In China, ASF prices were flat with medium-length fiber and cotton-type staple pegged stable on the week.

Acrylic staple fibre markets were quiet and prices mostly rolled over as cost support was still firm. However, due to an early off season, market demand was dismal, as downstream yarn makers generally saw thin fresh order intakes. In turn, market transactions were mute in China, which is hard to improve in the short run. Some sellers closed offers due to high ACN values, and showed limited interest in domestic sales in China.

ASF prices were also stable in India, given the lingering cost pressure and increasing inventory pressure.

In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices were up PakRs3 a kg (up US cents 3) on the week.
