ASF markets remain steady in Asia

Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow prices were flat in the third week of April while offers for regular products were at US$1.50-1.55 a kg. In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices were steady during the week.

Acrylic staple fibre markets in Asia were calm and amid lackluster trading atmosphere as downstream mills maintained low procurement given weak terminal demand. Meanwhile, inventory piled up slightly in China, and prices rolled over.

A high import volumes triggered price competition with domestic materials but following the effectiveness antidumping measures, imports were decreasing gradually.

Maintenance plan at Hangzhou Bay and Jilin CF will tighten supply while demand will be bearish amid off-season in April to May.

Prices in India and Pakistan rolled over during the week.
