Acrylonitrile price declines in Asia, US

Asian acrylonitrile markers, CFR Far East and South East Asia were both down US$10 a ton in the second week of December. In China, offers for offshore cargoes were flat on the week while prices in India were stable.

Acrylonitrile prices in Asian markets fell that week despite strong propylene market. Prices were pressured by increasing availability in the region. PetroChina Jilin is planning to shut its 452,000 tons per year ACN plant for maintenance by April-May 2018.

In US, spot acrylonitrile prices declined during the week while deals were heard within the current range. Acrylonitrile export price fell US$10 a ton on the week.

In Europe, acrylonitrile prices were stable while suppliers settled December contracts at an increase from last month.
