Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association chairman Mukhtar Ahmed Khan Baloch while addressing a press conference on Saturday said that the government should work out a strategy to check the sale of substandard seeds to growers. He further said that PCGA would offer its full cooperation in the import of certified to provide qualitative seed to farmers for their cash crop.

He urged the multinational companies to negotiate with all the stakeholders involved in cotton trade to save the economy. The country can earn more foreign exchange from the export of value-added products, but it would depend on certified cotton seeds.

According to him, import of qualitative seed from India, China and Brazil is definitely to increase per acre production in the country.
