Google opts for upcycled socks by Kingly as gifts

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2021-07-29 10:35:43 – USA

US-based global internet giant Google chose recycled socks from Kingly, a European promotional clothing and merchandising business specializing in sustainable production based in Bulgaria, to present as ‘thank you' gifts to its partners and employees.

Kingly created 34,000 pairs of recycled socks for Google for one specific order through an agency, saving 24 million liters of water in the process. The manufacturing run also saved 90,168 kWh of power and prevented the release of 1,826 kg of pollutants.

On top of all these benefits of recycled textile yarn, Kingly used an upcycling method in which yarns are mechanically recovered and re-knitted without needing to be re-dyed.

Zhanina Lazarova, Kingly's community manager, said that if they needed proof, the success of this order was actual proof that their sustainability approach pays environmental dividends. A satisfied customer who kept coming back for more was the result of their partnership with the worldwide behemoth. And this is what they excel at: their meticulous attention to detail and stringent quality control ensure that their customers are satisfied with the quality and durability of their apparel, as well as their competitive pricing. The appeal of these promotional items among end-users is further evidence of their value.

Lazarova added that they think that building unshakable trust with their clients is the most essential aspect of their business. They know they can rely on them to provide promotional goods that meet or exceed their standards in a timely manner, all while using sustainably sourced raw materials, biodegradable packaging, and thoroughly researched sustainable manufacturing methods.

The sustainability platform BCOME Cradle-To-Grave has certified Kingly as the only branded clothing maker in the promotional marketing industry.

SMETA PILLAR 4, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, GOTS, OEKO-TEX, and GRS certifications backed up its sustainable product choices. Oeko-Tex certified yarns and materials are utilized in the manufacture of all clothing.
