Caprolactum prices firm on decent downstream demand

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2016-06-21 05:07:58 –

Asian markers, the SE and FE remained unchanged in the second week of June. In China, offers for liquid spot were flat on the week while solid goods offers were steady.

Sinopec maintained its June nomination at US$1,540 a ton for liquid goods while Fibrant nominated June at US$1,550 a ton for liquid goods.

Caprolactum prices were firm on range-bound feedstock benzene cost and decent downstream demand. On the back of better crude oil and benzene, caprolactum markets warmed up slightly on production cutbacks in China.

Mainstream values for liquid goods stood firm at previous week’s level while values for East European goods were pegged at a roll over. However, buyers bought hand to mouth volume.

Sinopec and Fibrant raised their June nomination from May for liquid goods while high end goods nomination for June were yet to be released.
