Indonesia - National textile industry predicted to grow at 5%

Sales of textiles and textile products this year is predicted to grow by 5% if compared to 2011 last year. If last year's textile sales reached U.S. $ 20.6 billion, so this year the sales of textiles and textile products is projected to reach U.S. $ 21.6 miliar. Ade Sudrajat, Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association (API) said the performance of Indonesia's textile industry remains positive . "Indonesia Sales growth is positive, while some other countries have a minus," Ade said in Jakarta.
She said, both domestic and export sales are equally contribute to the increase in sales of textiles and textile products. Of the total projected sales this year, exports will reach U.S. $ 14 billion. The projection of exports was up 5% when compared to last year's exports amounted to U.S. $ 13.3 billion.
"Export growth is probably not as big as usual, but the demand for textiles and textile products from Indonesia are still growing," said Ade optimistic.
While in the domestic market also will grow. If last year achieved sales of textiles and U.S. $ 7.4 billion figure, then this year's projected sales of the domestic market will reach U.S. $ 7.6 billion.
Ade said sales growth in textiles and textile products in the country will occur simultaneously with the national textile industry performance.
