Toray Industries, Inc. will raise its prices for all items of woven and knitted fabrics for applications in women’s wear, men’s wear, sportswear, uniforms, linings and industrial materials from October shipments.
The price-hike will be 4-5% for apparel manufacturers.
As fuel costs are rising, Toray expects that cost increases will be inevitable in the future. The company decided to raise its prices in order to cover the cost increase, as well as for maintaining and promoting a system that supplies products of stable uniform quality, and for further developing and offering high value-added products.
Toray previously raised its prices for synthetic yarns and staple fibers for apparel and industrial applications from August shipments.
