May production of woven fabrics in the Ishikawa production district decreased by 42.1% from the same month of last year to 14,571,000 sq. meters, thus decreasing by more than 40% for three consecutive months.
Polyester fabric production fell by nearly 42%, and nylon fabrics also posted a decrease of 30%.
The consumption of yarn decreased by 43.3% in May to 1,872 tons, of which synthetic filament yarn declined by 39.9% to 1,793 tons.
The monthly average number of looms in operation was 4,940.
