The CSB chairman, K.M.Hanumantharayappa said that the annual production of raw silk hovered around 28,000 metric tonnes, out of which 98 percent belonged to the mulberry variety. The other three varieties were Muga, Eri and Tusar.

The company recently opened its first branch in the front zone - Horadiz settlement of the Fizuli region. The Horadiz branch has so far manufactured about 100 carpets of various sizes which will be exhibited at various international trade shows, said Azerkhalcha president Professor Vidadi Muradov.

A three day DMI workshop on advanced textile screen printing was organized by Vasai based Grafica Flextronica from 17 to 19 July 2017 where there were 18 overseas participants (South Africa: 10, Egypt: 5, Nepal: 2 and Sri Lanka: 1). In all there were 59 participants which turned out to be truly an international event.

A three day DMI workshop on advanced textile screen printing was organized by Vasai based Grafica Flextronica from 17 to 19 July 2017 where there were 18 overseas participants (South Africa: 10, Egypt: 5, Nepal: 2 and Sri Lanka: 1). ASF prices jumps in China, India

In China, ASF prices inched up in the first week of August, with medium-length fibre and cotton-type staple up US cent 1 a kg on the week. Acrylic staple fibre prices were largely stable across markets in Asia with limited signs for upward movement due to weak raw material cost.

Although demand recovered moderately, it will still take some time for the market to completely be buoyed, as the upward momentum from demand side was still inadequate.

Acrylonitrile price declines in Asia, US

Asian acrylonitrile prices declined in the first week of August with CFR Far East Asia down US$10 a ton while CFR South East fell US$5 a ton. Acrylonitrile prices were down in Asian markets despite high upstream cost while active purchasing was witnessed in the markets during the week.

China’s Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical postponed the maintenance at its 260,000 ton a year acrylonitrile plant at Lianyungang in Jiangsu province amid improved margins. Meanwhile, India’s import of acrylonitrile reduced by 29 per cent year on year to 5,660 ton in May.

MEG price edges up amid growing buying interest in Asia

Asian spot MEG inched up US$5 a ton CFR China and CFR South East Asia in the first week of August. In China, offers for nearby-month cargoes rebounded during the week. Mono ethylene glycol prices in Asia were firm amid moderate transactions with buying interest for low-priced goods growing somewhat. However, prices weakened by the end of the week while transaction of forward-month cargoes was moderate.
